The town was created by the railroad system and named for its central location within\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dodge_County,_Minnesota\">Dodge County, Minnesota<\/a>,\u00a0which was named for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Henry_Dodge\">Henry Dodge<\/a>, twice the governor of Wisconsin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About the time the high school started excelling at football, the city was anticipating the boom in aviation that was sure to follow World War II. In 1946 an Airport Commission and Zoning Board were organized.
